DOSSIN EDITION OF TCHAIKOVSKY'S "SEASONS" NOW AVAILABLE



The Alexandre Dossin edition of Tchaikovsky's The Seasons (Schirmer Performance Editions, published and distributed by Hal Leonard) is now available for purchase through your favorite music retailer. Some of you may recall Dossin from his lecture-presentation about this work at OMTA Portland's workshop in May 2009. The Dossin edition is a combination of a score and a CD recording of Tchaikovsky's unique cycle. The 12 pieces included are great for intermediate players, with lots of performance notes, fingerings and a recording of Dossin's performance. Dossin worked directly with the facsimile of the autograph, and made the edition as close to Tchaikovsky's initial creation as possible.




HILLSBORO OMTA PRESENTS MASTER CLASS, HONORS ED DAVIE



The Hillsboro OMTA Focus Group would like to invite all Portland members to its upcoming meeting from 9:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 3, 2010, at the Hillsboro Main Library,  2850 NE Brookwood Parkway, Hillsboro, OR 97124. A business meeting will precede the program at 9 a.m. Former OMTA Support Secretary Ed Davie will be honored during the business meeting for his many years of service to OMTA.

-Melissa Terrall, age 14, student of Jan Mittelstaedt, NCTM: Etude in D flat Major "Un Sospiro" by F. Liszt.
